The choice between a hydraulic or mechanical grapple should be fairly straight forward in most cases. The more expensive hydraulic machine is worth the money; it just depends if you’ll actually use it enough to warrant one. The cheaper mechanical option can definitely get the job done with a lower entry cost – especially if you have a skilled operator – but it does lack precision and ease of use.
