Wheel Loaders are primarily used to load, carry and
dump materials into dump trucks, bins and hoppers.
They are extremely good for carrying materials over
short distances on irregular ground. Because wheel
loaders are so versatile, they are used in the most
diversified applications. Each loader bucket can be
designed to suit each application, material density,
customer requirements and machine capability.
The majority of
eiengineering
wheel loader buckets
are characterized by the large underside base plate.
The primary purpose is to support or carry the load
across the entire width of the bucket. The baseplate
and curved backplate form a rigid composite beam
that gives the bucket a far superior bottom end
strength and years of trouble free operation.
The bucket shape promotes the efficient loading of
material, resulting in buckets which load easier and
fill quicker than conventional buckets. These
buckets can be designed in any width / capacity
combination that suits the material density, truck
or bin capacity and digging conditions.
eiengineering
buckets may be fitted with a number of
additional components to protect and extend the life
of each bucket such as inner skin plates, extra side
wear patches, corner wear strips and various bolt on
edges, lip shrouds, side edge shrouds, etc.
So, whether it’s hard rock, coal, light materials,
sand, or red hot steel slag,
eiengineering’s range
of wheel loader buckets stand up under the most
trying conditions. Better design and more robust
materials ensure reliability, increased capacity and
long bucket life. Built to machine specifications,
our buckets and other attachments are good for
profits with increased earnings, lower running costs
and greater capital equipment savings.
eiengineering Light Materials Wheel Loader Bucket
In a light material environment, a General Purpose
bucket would not be recommended, as they would be
too heavy and have a capacity which would be too
small for the capabilities of the wheel loader.
Purpose built light material buckets designed to
carry large capacities, will load much more in each
pass, thus saving money and earning more per hour. A
typical light materials bucket will be designed for
materials from 450 Kg per m3 and higher. These
buckets are usually used for loading from stockpiles
of light materials such as compost, coal, woodchips,
etc. into trucks and bins.
However, design is still very important as a light
materials bucket loading coal will not be a cost
effective light materials bucket primarily loading
woodchips.

Woodchip & Mulch Light Materials Wheel
Loader Bucket
Used for material densities around 400 to 600Kg
per m3
The woodchip and mulch light materials buckets are
designed for loading bulk loosely compacted
materials. The effects of water saturation also has
to be taken into consideration when designing this
bucket and calculating its capacity. In some
applications these buckets can be built to a
capacity of double that of a regular GP Bucket, thus
moving double the amount of material in a single
pass.
This bucket is usually designed with a straight
cutting edge and replaceable bolt-on-edges designed
to protect the bucket edge from excessive wear,
especially on concrete surfaces.
These buckets are supplied with no spillguard or a
spillguard made from mesh.
Primarily used for loading from stockpiles, these
buckets are not designed to dig.

Coal Face Digging Light Materials
Wheel Loader Bucket
This bucket is used for “off the face” digging fro
Brown or Black Coal.
The material density for this type of bucket ranges
between 1000 to 1200 Kg per m3.
Still a light materials bucket, these buckets are
designed for a little less bulk loading, but more
strength through the bucket base, with a choice of
straight, spade, or vee edges available and fitted
with teeth and adaptors to aid the digging process.
Optional accessories include spillguard of mesh,
straight or spade.
These buckets are used for loading trucks or bins
and are not designed for loading overburden or shot
rock applications.
Performance Statement
High performance wheel loader buckets from
eiengineering
will improve your productivity and
performance through:
Superior bucket breakout force and penetration
through short pin to point bucket design
Improved bucket geometry for more efficient digging
and loading of material
Heavy duty robust construction for increased
strength and durability
Flexibility - any bucket width - depth – capacity
A choice of wear package configurations to build
your general purpose bucket into a Rock or Heavy
Duty Bucket
Are designed to comply with OH&S requirements
What to look for in a light materials wheel loader
bucket
In virtually all cases the loader bucket is wider
than the wheels of the loader to protect the tyres.
The shorter the “pin to point” on the bucket, the
better the bucket digs (referred to as bucket
breakout force).
The shape of the cutting edge and the side cutting
edges of the bucket determine how well the bucket
penetrates into the pile of material.
The spillguard on the bucket protects the cab of the
operator when loading over the side of trucks and
bins. Material falls over the back of the spillguard
when the bucket is fully raised and in the rolled
back position.
The construction of the loader bucket is determined
by the application. Buckets designed for one
particular application will not perform best in
another application. To overcome wheel loaders
working in more than one application, an option is
to fit a hydraulic quick coupler than will allow the
quick changing of more than one attachment. (see
Quick Couplers)
Loader bucket capacities are defined by either:
The Struck Capacity Vs which is approximately the
waterline capacity
The SAE rated capacity or Heaped Capacity is with
the bucket heaped with the pile at 1:2
SAE rated or heaped capacity is the one most
commonly used. As an approximation, rated capacity
is 1.17 X Struck Capacity.
Loader buckets are designed to suit specific
applications and machine types. A bucket for one
wheel loader will not fit another machine unless it
is exactly the same make and model of wheel loader.
eiengineering Light Materials Wheel Loader Bucket
Design
Heavy duty top box construction allowing maximum
transfer of loads into bucket hangers.
The unique design of the bucket enables the bucket
to penetrate the stockpile with less effort. The
bucket will consistently fill to maximum capacity,
improving machine productivity and lowering
operating costs.
Correct choice of wear parts and cutting edge
systems lowers production costs and improves machine
productivity
The heavy duty boxed floor construction is superior
to all other conventional loader buckets. Because
these buckets have a more durable base, they will
perform and last at a higher standard requiring
significantly less maintenance during their working
life.
Shorter bucket “pin-to-point” from the bucket being
designed for the application, material density and
wheel loader specifications further improves
penetration and force required for the cut.
Bucket width and capacity can be designed around the
material density, operating and trucks or bins being
loaded.
The centre hanger construction is superior to
conventional loader buckets and is especially
designed for the z-bar wheel loaders offered today.
All
eiengineering
buckets are made from Bisalloy,
which is 3.1 times stronger than mild steel. This
ensures more strength and less weight which means
greater capacities, less fuel consumption and less
load on the excavator.
The Benefits
The benefits you will experience are:
Earn more money moving more material - greater
payload per bucket load – more in every fill without
losing any digging ability.
Reduced cycle times as capacities are higher
Reduce fuel costs – because the bucket digs easier
with less drag, fuel costs will be reduced
Save time – more bucket capacity means less time
behind the controls, saving fuel and employee costs
Reduced servicing costs because the wheel loader is
not working as hard
Bisalloy construction means longer working life of
the bucket and less downtime carrying out expensive
repairs or modifications
What you get as standard
