Performance Statement
Spring type Quickhitches are frequently used on
the smaller mini-series excavators and backhoe
loaders. Pressure is kept on the tongue by a heavy
duty spring positioned in the centre of the main
quickhitch body. A safety pin is also required with
these type of quickhitches – they cannot be used
without the safety pin engaged. The lever is
required to unlock the bucket or other attachment
from the spring quickhitch during attachment
changes.
Quickhitches have revolutionised the application of
hydraulic excavators making them by far the most
versatile piece of plant available to the
earthmover. Fitting a spring quickhitch to your
excavator means the right tool can be used for the
job because the time to change most implements is
less than one minute.
High performance excavator quickhitches from
eiengineering
will improve your productivity and
performance through:
Improved geometry for provide a more compact
quickhitch to reduce pin-to-point and increase
bucket breakout
Heavy duty robust construction for increased
strength and durability
are designed to comply with OH&S requirements
The challenges facing our engineering team when
designing our superior spring quickhitch, were to
design a quickhitch that was safe, robust and
compact without losing any of its flexibility or
performance.
Because any extension of the dipper arm adversely
affects the excavators lifting capacity, which in
turn affects the capacity of the bucket, it is of
utmost importance that the quickhitch is the most
compact design available. The following table shows
the impact of compact vs. non-compact quickhitches
on bucket lifting capacities.

User safety is paramount in the
design and construction of the Quick hitch. The
heart of the safety features is the safety pin
mechanism designed to lock in the spring screw that
operates the quickhitch tongue.
Safety features: Safety pins are incorporated as
part of the hitch assembly.
The hitch will not disengage if there is a
mechanical failure in the spring mechanism such as
through damage or spring failure
Our breakthrough design offers a 100% Bisalloy
quickhitch that will withstand any tough working
environments, that is compact so that the excavator
performs at its maximum.
What to look for in a Spring quickhitch
Heavy Duty construction for added strength and
durability
Safety pin mechanism ensures compliance with OH&S
regulations
Superior compact design
Quickhitch loading capacity is matched to your
application
High strength steel used in construction
eiengineering Spring Quickhitch Design
The design of the
eiengineering
quickhitch is
unique, however you can be assured that they are
built to the limitations of the excavator and comply
with OH&S regulations.
Our engineers calculate the proportions for the
materials being excavated, the lifting capacity of
the machine and the size of the bucket when
manufacturing a spring quickhitch.
The compact design ensures maximum bucket breakout
force
All
eiengineering
quickhitches are made from
Bisalloy, which is 3.1 times stronger than mild
steel. This ensures more strength and less weight
which means greater capacities, less fuel
consumption and less load on the excavator.
The Benefits
The benefits you will experience are:
Earn more money moving more material - greater
payload per bucket load because of more compact
quickhitch design
Reduce fuel costs – because the bucket loads easier
with less drag, fuel costs will be reduced
Save time – more bucket capacity means less time
behind the controls, saving fuel and employee costs
Reduced servicing costs because the excavator is not
working as hard
Bisalloy construction means longer working life of
the bucket and less downtime carrying out expensive
repairs or modifications
No extra outlay for hydraulic piping or servicing
What you get as standard
All of our quickhitches are delivered complete. We
do not usually provide pins, as the pins are
normally provided by the excavator supplier, however
we can supply them if requested.
We do not provide any hydraulic pipes or hoses
